The new Western Reserve Greenway Trail (WRGT) was opened July of 2002. The GRTR Club was instrumental in the acquisition of trail funding and additional funding for maintenance equipment used throughout all seasons. As the only motorized user group permitted on this trail, the snowmobilers have a great responsibility to self preservation of existence on the trail.
The summer of 2011 marked the completion of the Club's own self-constructed building. After years of fund-raising and contributions, the club was able to purchase land and construct a 40x80 storage building in Jefferson.
The club donates $500 a year to charities around Ohio. During the winter, we donate labor to maintaining the Greenway Trail. Some of our members also donate trail maintenance during the summers, too. For full information on the contributions we do, join us as a member!
To fulfill the massive demand for clean, smooth trails, through a joint effort with the OSSA the GRTR has acquired a groomer to enhance riding opportunity and quality.
Our club along with the Austinburg trustees had a beautiful split-rail fence installed at the Austinburg cemetery. The club donated $1,000 matched by the Ohio State Snowmobile Association $100; the remaining $900 picked up by the trustees. The fence was installed by Old Fashioned Fence Company of Ashtabula .
